Solar Flare 2024 Aurora. The archive is not available for this date. While many of us were celebrating the end of 2023 and the coming of 2024, the sun was having its own celebration blasting an x5.0 flare from sunspot region 3536.
This latest solar flare came from a sunspot region called 3664, activity from which produced incredible displays of aurora across the world on friday through saturday. Yesterday we saw an impressive 17 sunspot regions on the sun’s face, which matched the previous record for sunspot number, seen in april 2024.
